Inspiration

The creation and development of a new in-house manual winding movement with 7-day power reserve exploiting the abacus principle to display when the power goes from full to empty, was one among the multiple projects Cyrus had in mind. The final result is the Kambys timepiece which chooses a tonneau-shaped case to better integrate and enhance the vertical axis on which three cylinders slide progressively indicating when the power reserve is running out.

About the Kambys

The only tonneau-shaped timepiece in the CYRUS collection, the KAMBYS embodies the brand’s characteristic avant-garde 3D dial architecture and also provides an unconventional interpretation of the time and power reserve.

Powered by an in-house, hand-wound calibre with 7-day power reserve, the cylinder slide power reserve indicator is this timepiece’s main innovation at 3 o’clock. Displayed on a vertical axis, three finely crafted cylinders slide progressively as the power goes from full to empty.

Also noteworthy of its originality, the Kambys offers a technically advanced display of small seconds between 7 and 8 o’clock. With three beveled hands of different lengths, each hand passes over the three 120° arcs, measuring 20 seconds before leaving the scene to the next hand. A secret animation activated by pressing the push-button of the crown at 9 o’clock completes the timepiece.
